Mint targets March Eagle sellout

The Mint expects to sell the last of its inventory of 2009-dated one-ounce gold American Eagles in the middle of March.

The Mint expects to sell the last of its inventory of 2009-dated one-ounce gold American Eagles in the middle of March.

As of Feb. 23, the Mint still had 9,500 of the coins in inventory.

Authorized purchasers are required to buy the coins at a rate of one for every three 2010 coins they purchase until they are gone.

So far this year, the Mint has sold a combined 151,000 once-ounce gold American Eagle coins.
