Through Oct. 31, coin production is still running well ahead of 2004 figures.
So far in 2005, a total of 12,907,010,500 coins have been produced by the U.S. Mint, according to figures released Nov. 1.
At this time in 2004, the Mint had turned out 11,701,540,000. In October, the Mint produced more than 1.154 billion coins. Broken down by production facility, here are the October monthly circulating production numbers:
Cent-P: 263.6 million.
Cent-D: 308.4 million.
Nickel-P: 61.680 million.
Nickel-D: 42.240 million.
Dime-P: 123.5 million.
Dime-D: 136 million.
Quarter-P: 129.8 million.
Quarter-D: 116.6 million.
