Demand for quarter-ounce and half- ounce pieces lag the 2012 pace. The 18,000 and 13,000 sales figures, respectively, are well behind last year’s 38,000 and 49,000 monthly totals.

While bullion silver American Eagle sales have not yet exceeded the January 2012 number, they likely will before the month ends.
