Higher issue prices for the gold American Eagle proof coins don?t seem to be having much impact on initial orders for the coins. On the other hand, there is no danger of a quick sellout

With a one-ounce piece costing $770, a half-ounce specimen $385, a quarter-ounce coin $200, and a tenth-ounce piece $100, sales have run to 4,726, 1,501, 1,445 and 3,208 pieces, respectively.
