There is no rush to buy the remaining National Baseball Hall of Fame clad half dollars.

Though these coins have the same cupped shape as the sold-out gold $5 and silver dollar, the composition and higher mintage ceiling are deterring collectors from going hog wild about them.

The Mint can sell up to 750,000 of the clad half dollars while the silver dollar was limited to 400,000 and the gold to 50,000.

In the week ending April 20, collectors took just 8,852 proof baseball halves and 4,758 of the uncirculateds.

The running tally of proofs totals 119,869 and for the uncirculated it is 74,203.

The combined total is 194,072.

That means there are just 555,928 to go.

Sure you don’t want 1,000 or perhaps 10,000?
