Mint gets new deputy director

Andrew D. Brunhart became Deputy Director of the U.S. Mint May 23.

Andrew D. Brunhart became Deputy Director of the U.S. Mint May 23.

Until recently, Brunhart served as general manager of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission in Laurel, Md. He earlier retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service.

?Andy has more than 20 years of experience in senior executive positions,? said Mint Director Edmund C. Moy. ?His expertise in organizational change will help the U.S. Mint achieve its strategic goals and become a more results-oriented organization.?

Brunhart holds a bachelor degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University and has a master?s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois. He is a graduate of the Advanced Executive Program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and holds a certificate in financial planning.

He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in public policy and administration from Walden University.
