Mint begins selling Legacy Collection

Sporting a $100 price tag, the 2008 United States Mint Legacy Collection of proof coins went on sale Oct. 27. It is limited to 50,000 sets.

A proof Bald Eagle silver dollar is the highlight coin, but the set also includes the cent, nickel, dime, five quarters, half dollar, four Presidential dollars and the Sacagawea dollar, making 15 coins in all.

For the first 30 days, there is a limitation of 10 sets per household on orders.

Bald Eagle coins will cease being sold by the Mint at the end of the business day Dec. 12.
