New York’s Westchester County Coin Club commemorated its 75th anniversary with the issuance of a new medal, which was unveiled at the club’s annual banquet May 7 in Hastings-on Hudson, N.Y.
The club is known for its sponsorship of the 1938 New Rochelle commemorative half dollar. The 75th anniversary medal obverse features an updated version of the one rejected design for that coin. An updated version of the club’s logo appears on the reverse.
YN member William Robins coordinated the project with coin designer and private minter Daniel Carr of Colorado.
The medals have been produced in .999 fine silver and pure copper with a mintage limited to 100 for each. Both versions are 39mm in diameter.
“This is our club’s first medal issue in 15 years, and without doubt, the finest yet,” said Jon Lerner, club president.
Sets of one silver and one copper medal are available for $43 plus a flat fee of $6 for shipping. Individual medals are being sold at $35 for the silver and $12 for the copper.
All orders may be sent prepaid to Westchester County Coin Club, P.O. Box 272, Mohegan Lake, NY 10547-0272. Checks can be made payable to “WCCC.”
