Mastro sells sets

The March 3 Classic Collectors auction included a group of early 20th century U.S. coin sets that sold for $3,109.

Mastro Auctions completed its first sale of 2006 on March 3.

The Classic Collectors auction included a group of early 20th century U.S. coin sets that sold for $3,109.

Included in the sale were a number of Americana and sports items, along with entertainment collectibles.

Among the coin collectibles was an 1872 silver three-cent piece, graded Proof-65 by Professional Coin Grading Service, that went for $1,195. A group of 1950s-1990s U.S. Mint collector issues and sets realized $897.
