The Manatee County Coin Club of Bradenton, Fla., has announced its selection of officers for 2010. The election took place during the group’s annual Christmas dinner held Dec. 15, at which 70 members were in attendance.
President Richard Wagner declined the nomination to retain the presidency for 2010. He then nominated Nicholas A. Szempruch as president for the term. The nomination was seconded by the election committee.
Max Vreudenhil accepted the nomination to retain his position as vice president.
Longtime secretary Pat Sinclair relinquished the reins this year. Eric Grimes offered his services as secretary and was nominated by the election committee for the 2010 term.
Dotty Way agreed to remain treasurer.
The nominations were then voted on by the present members, and all were accepted.
After the meeting was adjourned, tickets were sold for a coin raffle. Prizes consisted of 20 different silver dollars – a mixture of Morgans, Peace dollars and modern commemoratives. All raffle proceeds went to the club.
For a second raffle, one ticket was given to each present member at no cost. Drawings were then made for two 1/20th-ounce gold Panda coins. The winners were Zack Harriott, one of club’s youngest and newest members at 10 years old, and outgoing president Wagner.
