Incumbent governor Greg Lyon is seeking re-election to the American Numismatic Association board of governors in the June election.
The long-time hobbyist said his theme is, “A Business Mind, A Collector’s Voice.”
“The ANA is a business with a $6 million annual budget and assets totaling over $60 million. I have the background and experience to lead the ANA in both areas,” he said.
Launch of the Technology Committee and the completion of the ANA Strategic Plan are the two accomplishments in his first term he is most proud of. The relaunched ANA website is currently under design, he said.
Over the next two years Lyon looks forward to expansion of the “ANA Road Show” which will allow members across the country to view exhibits from the ANA Money Museum and Library and meet ANA staff and officers.
He noted, ““Today, only a portion of our membership has the opportunity to visit ANA Headquarters or attend an ANA convention.”
In addition to speaking and exhibiting at numerous regional and local shows, Lyon has had articles published in FUN Topics, First Strike and The Centinel and is a recipient of Florida United Numismatists’ Charles B. Fine Literary Award. He has received an ANA Presidential Award, the ANA Outstanding Adult Advisor Award, the ANA Outstanding Young Numismatist Award and 16 ANA exhibit awards – including two Charles H. Wolfe Young Numismatist Best-in-Show Awards.
Lyon has been an ANA member for over 30 years and has volunteered for the ANA since 1989 – as an exhibit judge, convention volunteer and Summer Seminar YN chaperone. He is a member of other numismatic organizations.
Professionally, he has a 20-year career in Information Technology – including five years in management consulting – and currently works as a project manager for Thomson Reuters.
