Abraham Lincoln’s Presidential dollar will be formally launched Nov. 19 at the 16th President’s cottage on the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, D.C.

The ceremony will start at 10 a.m.

The cottage was opened to the public by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 2008. Lincoln spent time at the cottage during the Civil War, living there for roughly a quarter of his presidency and visiting there the day before his assassination. He drafted the Emancipation Proclamation there.

The Lincoln dollar is the fourth and final issue for 2010 and the 16th issue of the Presidential dollar series, which began in 2007.
