Limits placed on clad proofs

Sales for the 2005 U.S. Mint

Sales for the 2005 U.S. Mint’s 11-coin clad proof set are up 26 percent over last year’s sales and supplies are running out as the year comes to a close.

That forced the Mint to impose limits Nov. 17 of 10 per order, per household on future orders of the set to ensure fair distribution of the product.

“We’re very pleased and thankful for the popularity of the set,” said Gloria Eskridge, associate director for sales and marketing for the Mint. “We want to ensure the widest possible distribution among the broadest number of people.”
