The library of the Latin American Paper Money Society has a new home.
LANSA has donated its collection to the American Numismatic Association’s Dwight N. Manley Numismatic Library in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Formerly housed in Seward, Alaska, the LANSA collection includes copies of original research on Latin American money and source documents.
LANSA President Art Matz said he will contribute additional items to the ANA library as new material appears.
“Your help has given me a tremendous boost,” Matz said. “Seeing the material in the ANA library will be most enjoyable for me.”
“This special collection will be an important asset for the ANA,” said Nancy Green, ANA library director. “Many of our members are interested in Latin American currency.”
With about 15,000 titles, 20,000 auction catalogs and 200 periodical titles, the Dwight N. Manley Numismatic Library is the largest circulating numismatic library in the U.S.
