Kodachrome's passing
today, Dec. 30, 2011 was the last day to get a roll of Kodachrome film processed.
I was introduced to slide film in about 1972 when my mom decided to switch the family photos from 8mm movies to the 35mm SLR format.
A Scouting friend convinved her to go Minolta, and that is the camera I learned photography on, and slides became our mode of choice.
I'm not sure if the digital age will give us something better but it will certainly be different. I'll miss the yellow and red box, loading film, and packing the slides into the projector.
