A total of 435 admission paid guests attended the 38th annual Waukesha Coin Club Show March 11 at the American Legion Post in Brookfield, Wis. According to dealers present, the public was buying.
?The show has been doing well at this location the last four years and dealer tables were sold out nearly six months ahead of the show,? said club member Thomas Snyder. ?Thanks to F+W Pubs for the supply of collector publications sent to the club to hand out, but they were all dispersed in the first 20 minutes of the show.
?Exhibiting was especially strong this year with members making a ?dry run? of their displays in preparation for the big American Numismatic Association convention coming to Milwaukee in August,? explained Snyder.
Youngsters accompanying their parents had an opportunity to make elongated cent souvenirs with a die engraved for the event depicting the old Waukesha County Court House.
The club sponsored a coin exchange and guests could buy Montana state quarters at face value. About 150 coins were exchanged. Also available were the new George Washington dollars.
