Kennedy order numbers low

Only 85,670 of the four-coin silver Kennedy half dollar sets were ordered in the first 12 hours of availability yesterday.

The Mint has just reported these figures.

A maximum of 300,000 will be made, but this will adjust downwards if collectors don't buy that many.

The set is $99.95 each.

It includes four special .900 fine Kennedy half dollars with the 1964 portrait.
