Down Under the Perth Mint has announced that sales of its 2016 Australian silver Kangaroo bullion dollar have reached 10 million. The coin has always proved popular, particularly in America and Germany. It was introduced to Perth’s bullion coin program in September 2015, and sales that year were double the anticipated 5 million. CEO Richard Hayes, Perth Mint’s CEO, predicts that next year sales could exceed 12 million.

Despite the mint offering a range of silver bullion coins showing different animal icons and ranging in size from 1/2 ounce to 10 kilogram, it is the 1-ounce kangaroo that continues to rule the roost.
