We had a couple of hard frosts in Iola, Wis., in the past week. This is about two weeks earlier than usual.

This helped move preparations for winter to the top of “to do” lists.

I had my car in for scheduled maintenance on Saturday. It is now ready for cold and snow.

This is not my favorite time of year. Sure, autumn as a season is pleasant enough. However, I don’t want to flip that mental switch that admits that winter is coming. I don’t want to let go of summer.

The frost and the list help motivate me. They both help me put one foot in front of the other to do things I might be more inclined to put off.

Summer has been good to gold buyers. Will the autumn prove to be as rewarding?

Counting up profits is much more fun than figuring losses. But like any good home owner in a northern climate, gold and silver buyers should have a check list ready to handle any conditions that they might face.

This will be one of the topics discussed in the next online seminar that I will conduct on Thursday at 3 p.m. Central Time.
