An agreement to transfer the Jewish-American Hall of Fame’s website, www.amuseum.org., to the auspices of the American Numismatic Society has been signed by Andrew Meadows, ANS deputy director, and Mel Wacks, director of the Jewish-American Hall of Fame Division of the American Jewish Historical Society.
“This agreement will assure that this educational, historic and numismatic website that has been built up since 1996 will continue to be available to collectors, scholars, students and others for the foreseeable future,” said Wacks.
The site received the Numismatic Literary Guild’s 2002 award for Best Non-Commercial Web Site and attracts more than a million visitors a year.
“This website will expand the ANS brand, allowing us to reach many more collectors and prospective collectors,” said Meadows.
According to the agreement, “Mel Wacks will continue to update and correct the website content … and designated ANS staff or students can add content or make corrections,” he said.
The website contains articles on medals and features the annual JAHF issues, which are the longest-running series of non-governmental art medals produced in America.
