Legislation requiring four designs a year on the dollar coin while preserving the Native American dollar as the fifth annual design was signed into law by President Donald Trump July 20.

The American Innovation $1 Coin Act would anchor dollar coin themes to state and territories starting in 2019. The dollar schedule as laid out is to have a duration of 14 years.
