‘In God We Trust’ subject of art contest

The 150th anniversary of the inclusion of the motto “In God We Trust” on the first U.S. coins is April 22. To commemorate the occasion, educational organization Salt & Light Global is sponsoring an art contest open to Michigan high school juniors and seniors.

The 150th anniversary of the inclusion of the motto “In God We Trust” on the first U.S. coins is April 22. To commemorate the occasion, educational organization Salt & Light Global is sponsoring an art contest open to Michigan high school juniors and seniors.

Art can be created in any medium but must incorporate the motto. A photograph of the finished artwork must be submitted by April 1. Winners will be selected by April 15. Thirteen winners will share $9,500 worth of prizes at a press conference held on the steps of the Michigan Capitol in Lansing on April 22.
