The Illinois Numismatic Association will hold its 51st Coin and Currency Show Sept. 9-11 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Tinley Park, Ill. Dealer space for this 220-table show is sold out, the association reported.

It is ILNA’s third year at this location. “ILNA is looking forward to another successful show,” said Jim Paicz, bourse chairman. “The organization is pleased with this new venue and is looking to better the show with each passing year.”

The association’s 2010 theme is “Illinois Salutes 100 Years of Scouting.” Scouts are invited to attend the show as well as a seminar on scouting that will be followed by the annual youth auction.

Other seminars scheduled for the show are “Counterfeit American Coins” by Larry Briggs, “Early American Coinage” by Eugene Freeman and “Coin Photography” by John Baumgart.

The seminars and youth auction are scheduled for Sept. 11.

There will be three grading services in attendance. PCGS Currency will be accepting submissions and offering overnight grading for submissions received by show’s end Thursday. Larry Briggs of SEGS will be available to offer coin authentication and accept submissions. Michigan Masters Numismatic Services will be present to grade and encapsulate coins on site.

Leonard Auctions of Addison, Ill., has been added as the show’s official auctioneer. Auction lot viewing will be held Thursday and Friday during the show with the auction taking place Friday evening. ILNA has not had a show auction for three years and said it is hopeful that this one will generate good attendance. Dealers are encouraged to consign lots.
