As of Nov. 1, Independent Coin Grading is offering a seven-day guarantee on 15-Day and Economy Service plans.
According to a press release issued by ICG, if the company fails to meet the deadline, the client will receive a certificate for double the submission for free.
For example, if a 10-coin Economy Service submission turnaround time is eight days, ICG will send the client a certificate good for a free 20-coin Economy Service submission.
“We are trying to eliminate grading service gridlock. It’s a problem in the industry. Our clients don’t like delays and they deserve better,” says Paul DeFelice, ICG vice president of client relations and marketing. “The seven-day guarantee beats their expectations and if we don’t make it, they get double for free. I see it as a win-win for the customer.”

ICG is offering this program through Jan. 1, 2007. The grading service expects this to be a long-term solution for collectors and dealers who are anxious to have their coins in their collections and display cases, and not sitting around in a vault at a grading service.
ICG’s current turnaround time for 15-Day and Economy Service is four and six days respectively. “With our full team of expert graders,” Cheryl Reed, ICG senior customers service specialist adds, “we are way ahead of schedule. We are looking forward to a great 2006.”
The ICG Seven Day Guarantee states: “ICG will award customers a certificate redeemable for double the quantity of coins submitted if we do not perform on our current guaranteed turnaround time of seven days on 15 Day Service and Economy Service submissions. The guarantee only applies to regular U.S. coin submissions, which exclude varieties, errors, CONECA, world and ancient coins. “Days” are ICG working days and exclude weekends and holidays. Turnaround time does not include shipping time and is measured from the day ICG receives your coins until the day ICG ships them back. Nothing in this offer precludes or supersedes the terms and conditions on the ICG grading submission form.“
