The Chicago International Coin Fair (CICF) has a new official auction company: Heritage Auctions of Dallas, the world’s largest collectibles auctioneer.

The first Heritage-run auction will take place with the April 22-25 event.

The Chicago Inter-national Coin Fair is one of the most popular coin conventions in the United States, serving the interests of collectors and dealers of world coins and paper money, as well as ancient coins, antiquities and related collectibles.

“Like Heritage, CICF has a long tradition of serving dedicated collectors of world coins,” said Scott Tappa, show manager and publisher of Krause Publications’ numismatics group. “Heritage’s rich experience in auctioning world and ancient numismatic material makes it the perfect fit as official CICF auctioneer. We’re thrilled to have them officially on board.”

The Heritage auction will feature a major auction of world and ancient numismatic rarities running concurrent with a 90-booth bourse area featuring leading dealers in the field from 30 states and several foreign countries, as well as club meetings and educational programs.

“With 2010 CICF marks both its 35th anniversary and a promising new auction partnership for this key gathering,” said Cris Bierrenbach, director of International Sales at Heritage. “Chicago is the ideal spot for such an event, not only with world class dining and attractions, but also with O’Hare Airport directly accessible to international collectors. Getting in and out couldn’t be easier.”

The event is at Crowne Plaza O’Hare, with complimentary hotel shuttle van service from the airport. For more CICF information, visit www.cicfshow.com. For more Heritage information visit www.ha.com.
