A Hawaiian newspaper is asking its readers to submit designs for the Hawaii state quarter, due out in 2008.
The Honolulu Star-Bulletin, in its March 5 edition, included a form and a blank quarter allowing readers to draw their ideas.
The newspaper did this in 1997, before the state quarter program began. Back then, readers voted for an image of the Hawaii state flag.
To submit an entry, write to: ?Quarter Finalists,? Honolulu Star-Bulletin Features section, 7 Waterfront Plaza, Suite 210, Honolulu, HI 96813. No fax or e-mail entries are accepted.
The deadline is March 31. A total of 10 finalists will be selected. Readers will be asked to vote for their favorites. The top designer will win $500 quarters ($125).
