The human element in collecting is on display in a YouTube video that is attached to the sales catalog of the Walter Mustain collection of large cents being sold by Harlan J. Berk, Ltd.

Emphasized is the bond that can grow between dealer and collector as the latter builds a set of large cents attributed by Sheldon and Newcomb numbers.
Harlan Berk said, “A first rate collector knows more than a dealer.” Berk goes on to explain that this is because a dealer must know about everything where a collector can specialize in one area and then dig very deeply into it.
The upshot was Mustain took coins home with him without paying for them in order to attribute them and then get first shot at buying the coins he needed from Berk.
Being offered in the online catalog are approximately 100 of the best coins of the roughly 1,000 pieces that Berk was asked to sell.
Coins vary in condition from a Chain cent with the date worn off to coins in far higher grades, but all are meticulously attributed by Mustain.
Buyers of the coins will also acquire the records Mustain kept for each coin and even the original envelopes they came in.
