A dual-dated gold 2014 Kennedy half dollar struck to honor the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the design will be available for sale at the American Numismatic Association World’s Fair of Money in Rosemont, Ill.

The convention will be held Aug. 5-9.

The half will be struck as a proof at the West Point Mint. Prices and other details were not available at press time.

Two other 50th anniversary Kennedy products will also become available to collectors this year. These will be dated simply as 2014.

A set of two uncirculated half dollars, one each from Denver and Philadelphia, will go on sale on the Mint’s website July 24.

A four-coin silver set of half dollars will also be offered, though a specific date has not yet been set.

The half dollar set will be comprised of a proof from Philadelphia, a reverse proof from West Point, an enhanced uncirculated from San Francisco and an uncirculated coin from Denver.

The Mint plans to place order limits on what are expected to be popular products, but the specific numbers have not yet been determined.

If the gold Kennedy is as popular as the cupped baseball coins were at the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Expo in March in Baltimore, the line at the U.S. Mint booth in August will be very long.
