Mack Martin captured the Best of Show Exhibit Award at the Central States Numismatic Society convention held in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Ill.
He was honored at the CSNS Awards Breakfast April 30 with a plaque by Exhibits Chair Fran Lockwood.
Martin’s award-winning exhibit was titled, “State of Georgia Treasury Notes Treasury Certificates: 1861-1865.”
Winning the People’s Choice Award, which is selected by ballots cast by the public was Nancy Wilson for her exhibit, “Santa Claus on Banknotes, Stock Certificates and Die Proof Vignettes.” The holiday-themed notes are both rare and whimsical.
Lockwood said there were 240 cases of competitive exhibits and 28 cases of noncompetitive exhibits from 49 exhibitors.
