Gatewest launches online auction site

The new auction site lets collectors purchase and bid on thousands of coins, stamps, paper money, militaria and other collectibles, all from one location and one seller.

Gatewest Coin, a leading Canadian numismatic dealer, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, officially unveiled a new Web site at auction.gatewestcoin.com on April 1.

The new auction site lets collectors purchase and bid on thousands of coins, stamps, paper money, militaria and other collectibles, all from one location and one seller.

Also, using this opportunity, Gatewest has implemented a new software platform for its entire Web site. Customers can now purchase items on the Gatewest Coin Online Store, bid on unique items and instantly purchase one-of-a-kind items.

Integration with auctions listed and sold through other third-party auction sites will be implemented in the near future, allowing customers a one-stop buying and payment experience for all items sold by Gatewest Coin.

?We?re doing on our own Web site what we?ve done in other media ? we?re making it fast, easy and affordable to purchase and pay, right on your computer, for the many items we offer for sale,? said Ian Laing, president of Gatewest Coin. ?This opportunity allows us to advertise the tens of thousands of items we have in stock, which currently are not logistically possible to run on other third-party auction sites or our previous online store.?

Gatewest says it is the largest independent distributor of products from the Royal Canadian Mint. To date, Gatewest Coin has sold more than 100,000 items on third-party Internet auction sites, as well as numerous items through their own online store. Much of the material cannot be found anywhere else.
