Folders extend hobby to kids

Krause Publications, a leading producer of coin and paper money books, magazines, events and online products, has announced the release of a new product line designed for children: Warman’s Kids Coin Folders.

Available for collecting state quarters, national park quarters, Lincoln cents and Jefferson nickels, these coin folders are the perfect way to introduce children to the “Hobby of Kings.”

“Coin collecting is a wonderful activity for children for so many reasons,” said KP numismatics publisher Scott Tappa. “From history to commerce to art to metallurgy, coins are such a diverse educational tool. Our new kids coin folders really stress that educational component, stretching the folder beyond just three pieces of cardboard for storing coins.”

Each folder contains a unique element combining coins and education:

• The state quarters folder features a map and facts about each state.

• The national park quarters folder includes interesting trivia and pictures of our beautiful national park and historic sites.

• The Lincoln cents folder contains a detailed Lincoln biography and timeline of his life.

• The Jefferson nickels folder also contains a detailed biography and timeline.

KP will be promoting these products, along with its new book, A Kid’s Guide to Collecting Coins, outside of traditional numismatic channels, with promotion aimed at educators, after-school clubs and parents. KP has devised for these groups a range of suggested activities involving coins.
