Final 2009 fractional gold American Eagles

The final sale of 2009 fractional gold American Eagle bullion coins occurs Monday, according to the U.S. Mint.

The word went out in a memo today to the authorized purchasers.

Sales of the first batch Dec. 3 went quickly. and the Mint will allocate these supplies as well.

Totals sold so far are 260,000 tenth ounces, 58,000 quarter ounces and 56,000 half ounces.

The Mint also said that 2009 one-ounce gold Amercan Eagles will be offered for sale on Tuesday and on a weekly basis thereafter until the end of the month.

The allocation process is in effect for these coins as well.
