The Jamestown, N.Y., Coin Club has issued an encased cent to mark its 35th anniversary.

The obverse inscription is “Jamestown New York Coin Club 35th Anniversary,” with the dates 1975 and 2010. The reverse inscription is “Lucky Penny Pocket Piece – I Bring Good Luck.” The encasement surrounds a BU 1975 Lincoln cent.

It is available for $3 for one or $5 for two. Order by writing Steve Hatfield, 1544 Mee Road, Falconer, NY 14733. Include $1 for postage and handling.

Club meetings have been held monthly except in December, with a current average attendance of 60 members per meeting. A typical meeting consists of a business section followed by an auction. Auction items are submitted by club members.

The group first met in April 1975 at the Jamestown Community College. Harold Weiss became the first president. Chuck Brininger, current president, is the 12th person to hold the position.
