Brad Ream of Banyas Barnesyarde has made available two elongated coins created in honor of the 2010 Chicago International Coin Fair.

The first has a design based on a Scottish coin that honors Francis II of France and Queen Mary of Scotland, who were husband and wife. This is denoted by the combined letters “F” and “M.” The perimeter of the design reads, “35th Annual Chicago International Coin Fair,” and at the bottom are the show dates, “April 23-25 2010.” This design was rolled on cents.

Those who were not present to obtain the EC at CICF can buy them from Ream for $1 each, including postage. Previous CICF elongateds featuring French rulers Henri III, Henri IV, the pretender Charles X and Charles IX are also available for $1 each.

Ream continued another tradition of producing an elongated design for the Every Country Collectors group, whose only in-person meeting takes place annually at CICF. The group’s goal is to collect a coin from every country. It functions primarily online.

The design, marking the club’s 2010 meeting, is available on a half dollar and an English large penny. They cost $4 each or $7 for a set of two. Last year’s EC is still available for the same price.

To order, write Brad Ream at 4919 S. Catlin Road, Rockville, IN 47872.
