The 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth was the theme of the International Coin Club of El Paso’s Feb. 20-22 coin show.
The club counts it as one of its best. More than 1,100 adults and 250 youth attended the event. The first 1,000 adults received the new Lincoln cent.
A steady stream of attendees were still arriving at 3 p.m. on Sunday, even though the show closed at 4 p.m., John Grost reported.
About 20 youth attended a Kid’s Auction Feb. 21. Entry required completion of a quiz on Lincoln.
Eleven exhibits were on display from eight exhibitors.
The club sold 63 tables for the show. It plans to add an additional 10 dealers next year.
