Michael Mochizuki of Hawaii has created an elongated cent in honor of the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 2011.
The design features the USS Arizona Memorial, which was completed in 1961 with public funds appropriated by Congress and private donations. The memorial was dedicated in 1962.
The design also includes “70th Anniversary,” “Remember Pearl Harbor,” and the anniversary years of 1941 and 2011.
Single elongated cents are available for $2 each. A set of five elongated cents costs $7.50. Postage is paid in the U.S.
