Dutton to be presented Saltus Award

Ron Dutton, president of the British Art Medal Society, will be presented the J. Sanford Saltus Award Medal of the American Numismatic Society for signal achievement in the art of the medal.

Ron Dutton, president of the British Art Medal Society, will be presented the J. Sanford Saltus Award Medal of the American Numismatic Society for signal achievement in the art of the medal at some time this year, although the specific date has not yet been set.

Dutton, 73, is a resident of Wolverhampton, England. For 24 years he was a teacher of sculpture at Sunderland and Wolverhampton Colleges. Since 1985 he has been a full time artist. He is also the British delegate to FIDEM, the international art medal federation. Images of many of his medals can be found on his Web site, www.rondutton.co.uk.

He has had several private and commercial commissions, and his work is extensively exhibited, and is represented in numerous museums and collections.
