The first annual Dulles Coin & Currency Expo was held May 17-20 at Dulles Expo & Conference Center in Chantilly, Va., said show organizer Wayne Herndon.

Area collectors came in large numbers. Over 1,000 guests attended. Many area collectors who had never been to a coin show took advantage of the free admission and parking to experience a coin show for the first time.

ANACS grading service was in attendance. Representatives took submissions and handed out sample slabs to young numismatists.

?We will certainly be at next year?s show,? said Traci Poole, ANACS customer service manager.

Show promoter Paul Singleton and Traci Poole of ANACS admire the sample slabs that ANACS created for the event.

The Dulles Expo & Conference Center is the second largest exhibit hall in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. It is a 240,000 square foot facility that offers over 2,400 free parking spaces.

Herndon said he and his partner Paul Singleton were both pleased with the show. The only downside was that the show dates conflicted with three other shows, Singleton said.

Next year?s event is scheduled for April 24-27. For more details about the show, visit www.DullesCoinExpo.com or call Paul Singleton at (703) 932-9568.
