Another hotel has been added to house attendees of the Central States Numismatic Society convention April 29-May 2, 2009, at the Duke Energy Center in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.

The host hotel is rapidly reaching its capacity says Kevin Foley, general chairman.

“Our host hotel, the Hyatt Regency, is approaching a sellout over our dates and we were fortunate to be able to add space at a classic historic property within one block of the convention center, the Hilton Netherland Plaza. The Netherland Plaza is a beautiful Art Deco property built during the 1930s and kept up to AAA Four Diamond standards. It is an especially elegant hotel.”

Rooms can be booked at the Hyatt Regency, by calling (513) 579-1234 and mentioning rate code “CSNS” for the special $115 group rate. Rooms are available at the Hilton Netherland Plaza for $122, or $152 for a Junior Suite. Guests should call (513) 421-9100 and mention rate code “CSNS.”

Foley explained, “In addition to very heavy advance booking for our own event, Cincinnati will be hosting a number of other high attendance meetings and conventions over our dates. Reservations should be made as soon as possible in order to avoid having to stay some distance away at potentially higher cost.” A 21-day in advance cancellation policy will apply at both properties.

Ray Lockwood, education director for CSNS said, “Of special note will be a day- long seminar by Bob Evans on Sunday, May 3, about the S.S. Central America. Mr. Evans was the chief scientist for the expedition that recovered, conserved and made available to the numismatic community the many gold coins recovered from the lost ship.”

Lockwood pointed out the program takes place the day after the convention closes.

Advance registration is required. Telephone him at (765) 664-6520 or contact him via e-mail at sunrayofmarion@aol.com to make arrangements.
