If you collect, you need to get to a show. Shows are where everything is happening. Shows are where you begin to learn what's really rare and what's not so rare. Shows are where you make connections with dealers and collectors that can help build your collection and expand your knowledge.

The Chicago Paper Money Expo offers variety and opportunity for all paper money collectors.

Fortunately, no matter what area of numismatics proves to be your specialty, there are plenty of shows to fit the bill happening across the country each week. All of these will have coins and paper money. However, if you find that really into paper money you need to treat yourself to one of the few national shows devoted solely to it -- the Chicago Paper Money Expo.

This annual event, which convenes each March in Rosemont, Ill., not far from Chicago O'Hare, is a must stop for serious collectors. Dealers converge from all parts of the country and can include a smattering of foreign vendors as well.

So, I highly recommend, if you really enjoy your hobby, that you put March 18-20, 2016 on your calendar as the dates for the next CPMX. It's at the Crowne Plaza O'Hare, 5440 N. River Rd., Rosemont, Ill. I'll be there. Hope to see you as well.
