I hope this finds you winding down a successful summer collecting season and settling into your fall and winter endeavors.
I’d like to start off this quarter’s newsletter by introducing myself and explaining my role in the production of the Standard Catalog series.
My name is Maggie Judkins, and I have been with Krause Publications for eight years. I came on board as a proofreader after earning a bachelor’s degree in Teaching Communication Arts and Literature. Shortly thereafter, I joined the Numismatics editorial group and have been with them ever since. I have done a little bit of everything in my tenure at KP, but much of my time has been spent as editor of World Coins News, a monthly world coin collecting magazine with which I’m sure many of you are familiar. It was through this role that I gained an appreciation for the rich history coins can offer as well as a curiosity and excitement for new, modern issues from around the world.
With the departure of longtime Editor George Cuhaj, I have joined the Standard Catalog team. We are sorry to have lost George and his vast knowledge of coins and paper money, but I am honored and excited to be a part of producing these reference catalogs that are so comprehensive and so respected in our hobby. The Standard Catalog series wouldn’t be what it is without the time and expertise of our contributors, and I thank you for that. I am most looking forward to working with you to improve these already great works. Your input and comments are always welcome.
As Editor, my focus is two-fold: paper money and new coin issues. I am the point person for submissions to the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money books as well as new world coin submissions for the Standard Catalog of World Coins, 2001-Date book. I will also be assisting in the production of the other Standard Catalog of World Coins books, in conjunction with longtime Market Analyst and Editor Tom Michael.
Paper money and new issue coin contributors can send submissions directly to me by email email@example.com.
We are gearing up for the production of the 22nd edition of Standard Catalog of World Paper Money, Modern Issues in early 2016. Many of the contributors to this work have already received communication from me. If not, it may be that I don’t have your contact information on file, so please reach out.
Thank you for the warm welcome I have already received from many of you. I am truly excited for all I will learn and all we will accomplish together. With your help, I look forward to making the Standard Catalog series even better!
