A number of collections valued at more than $10 million will be featured in Ira and Larry Goldberg’s Pre-Long Beach Auction, in Beverly Hills, Calif., Feb. 5-8.
These collections consist of U.S. gold and silver coins, large- and small-size U.S. currency, and a very extensive collection of British and foreign coins.
The auction session info is as follows: Feb. 5, Sunday, U.S. Currency; Feb. 6, Monday, U.S. Copper and Silver; Feb. 7, Tuesday. U.S. gold coins and patterns; Feb. 8, Wednesday, ancient, world gold and silver.
The U.S. currency section will highlight mostly high-grade type notes which include several choice educational sets and a gem CU “Lazy Deuce.”
The U.S. coins section will consist of U.S. type coins and rarity 7 and rarity 8 patterns; a run of early Bust dollars in grades above EF will also be featured.
The U.S. gold section will feature an offering of Carson City, Dahlonega, and Charlotte mint issues. It also includes many 1907 High Reliefs and other early type gold coins.
Among the individual highlights are an 1856 Flying Eagle cent, graded Proof-62 Premium Quality by Professional Coin Grading Service, and an 1889-CC $1, graded MS-63 by Numismatic Guaranty Corp.
