A 1917-S Walking Liberty half with the mintmark on the reverse graded MS-67 by Numismatic Guaranty Corp. brought a stunning $71,300, including a 15-percent buyer?s fee. The firm said the Feb. 3 Certified Coin Dealer Newsletter had it at $32,000.
Another strong Walking Liberty half dollar was an MS-66 1927-S graded by Professional Coin Grading Service. It sold for $35,650.
