Commemorative set sees first week of sale

Priced at $40, the set features an uncirculated Little Rock commemorative silver dollar and a companion bronze medal.

Both pieces mark the 50th anniversary of the racial desegregation of Little Rock?s Central High School.

Maximum quantity of sets is 25,000. As of May 22, sales stood at 11,283.

Opening sales of individual silver dollars show the proof at 30,190 pieces and the uncirculated coin sales running at half that pace at 15,650.

Proofs are priced at $35 each and the uncirculated dollars are $33. A shipping and handling charge of $4.95 is added per order.

Later in the year an American Legacy Set will be sold that includes a Little Rock proof and a proof Jamestown silver dollar.

Combined sales of Little Rock dollar coins cannot exceed 500,000 pieces.
