?Live, from Iola, Wis., the Coin Collectors Capital of the World, it?s Coin Chat Radio.?
With that salutation, Krause Publications will launch a new Web-based radio station on March 14 at numismaticnews.net.
Bob VanRyzin, editor of Coins magazine, a sister publication to Numismatic News, will host the premiere show, ?Collecting Money.? It airs live at 11 a.m. and will be available as podcast for listeners who later visit the site.
Coin Chat Radio plans to offer a wide variety of programming to appeal to a divergent collecting community.
Segments include:
?In the News,? a recap of the top stories from the latest issues of Numismatic News, Bank Note Reporter and World Coin News.
?Freshly Minted,? news from the U.S. Mint and mints from around the world.
?Going Once,? highlights from recent auctions and items featured at upcoming events.
?Cutting Edge,? which puts the spotlight on people, businesses and products making news in the industry.
?It?s Show Time,? highlights upcoming conventions and shows.
?Cover to Cover,? featuring the latest numismatic books.
?Bank on It,? focusing on what?s new in the paper money field.
And a whole list of other topics.
?We want to be the one place people who are interested in numismatics want to go to,? said Dean Listle, Krause numismatics publisher.
?Whether it be in print, on the Web or at shows, we want to bring the numismatic community the news, features and services they want, no matter the platform.?
