Club holds first ANA Night
The Verdugo Hills Coin Club of California hosted its first ANA Night during its Nov. 11 meeting.
Participating in the program were Barry Stuppler, American Numismatic Association president; Walt Ostromecki, ANA governor and immediate past club president; Brenda Bishop, ANA convention services manager; and G. Lee Kuntz, chairman of ANA’s 2009 Los Angeles World’s Fair of Money.
The group addressed issues involving the upcoming convention, membership, educational outreach and association benefits. Bishop conducted a mini ANA history quiz, and winners received numismatic books as prizes.
Stuppler praised the club for its nearly 45 years of service to the local community and volunteering to be one of the hosts of the 2009 convention.
Ostromecki awarded Jeff Klemzak, VHCC member and two-time past president, a Presidential Certificate of Appreciation. Klemzak was recognized for his long history of hobby dedication and volunteerism, as well as for bringing the ANA convention back to Los Angeles after 34 years.
Ostromecki also recognized Bob Thompson, VHCC editor and ANA registration chairman.
