It?ll cost you $15.95 to get a 2006 U.S. Mint 50 State Quarters Proof Set.
The price was revealed Jan. 3 by the Mint, two days before the release date for the set, which features clad-composition proof quarters from Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Proof coins are manufactured at the U.S. Mint at San Francisco with specially prepared, highly polished dies and come with the ?S? mintmark. Each coin is struck twice. This adds detail. The resulting proofs feature frosted cameo images and bright, mirror-like fields.
The coins come in sealed cases that are inserted into specially printed boxes and come with a U.S. Mint Certificate of Authenticity.
Sets can be purchased from the Mint online through the Mint?s secure Web site, www.usmint.gov, or by calling toll-free (800) USA-MINT 8 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.
A shipping and handling fee of $4.95 per order will be added to all domestic orders.
