IOLA, Wis. (March 31, 2010) -- A sold-out bourse will await attendees of the 35th Annual Chicago International Coin Fair April 22-25 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare in Rosemont, Ill.
CICF, sponsored by World Coin News, is one of the most popular conventions in the U.S. serving the interests of collectors and dealers of world coins and paper money, ancient coins, antiquities and allied collectibles.
This year's show is already proving to be larger than that of 2009 and plans are in the works to expand the bourse, which will feature leading dealers from 30 states and several foreign countries.
New CICF auctioneer Heritage Auction Galleries will host a major sale of world and ancient numismatic rarities. It too has expanded with the addition of a fourth session to its auction.
Attendees can also look forward to club meetings, educational programs and the chance to meet experts in the field.
CICF activities get under way Wednesday, April 21, with auction lot viewing from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Heritage will hold auction sessions at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 1 and 6 p.m. on Friday, April 23, and 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 24.
A Professional Preview will be held on the bourse floor at 2 p.m. on April 22. Public bourse hours run 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. April 23-24, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on April 25.
Krause Publications experts will be available for questions and discussion on April 23 at Booth 1. Tom Michael, market analyst of the Standard Catalog of World Coins series, will be on hand at 11 a.m., and Dave Harper, executive editor of World Coin News, will be available at noon.
The Ancient Coin Collectors Guild will hold a meeting at 1 p.m. on April 23. The Bermanian Guild of Numismatists will meet at 7 p.m. the same day. Its topic will be "Wine Bottling in Bermania."
The Every Country Collectors Group, scheduled to meet at 8 a.m. on April 24, will host Jim Diracles of Renaissance Coin Company, who will speak on Italian States coins. Other groups set to meet that day are the Ancient Coin Club of Chicago at 11 a.m., the Chicago Coin Club at 1 p.m. and the Primitive Money Society at 4 p.m.
