Initial collector demand for the uncirculated “S” mint Chaco America the Beautiful copper-nickel clad quarter fell somewhat behind that of the El Yunque quarter.

In the first four days of sales that began July 12, the second available “S” quarter saw collectors snap up 484,860 coins sold by the Mint in either 100-coin bags or 40-coin rolls.

In comparison, the first wave of demand for the El Yunque quarters was 614,700 coins.

So far collectors have purchased 3,413 uncirculated 100-coin Chaco quarter bags for $34.95 each and 3,589 40-coin rolls priced at $18.95 each.

As of July 16, sales of the El Yunque quarter came to 6,917 100-coin bags and 10,665 40-coin rolls for a total of 1,118,300 coins. Sales for this design began June 21.
