U.S. Mint Director Ed Moy and Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer will launch the Montana quarter with a ceremony at the Helena, Mont., Civic Center at 10 a.m. Jan. 29.

Following the ceremony, $10 rolls of newly minted Montana quarters will be available for purchase. Children 18 years old and younger will receive a free Montana quarter.

Moy and Schweitzer will be joined at the ceremony by Montana Quarter Commission member Gary Marks, Blackfeet singer/songwriter Jack Gladstone, the Capitol High Jazz Band, a native drum group, the Helena High Ambience Choir and the Montana National Guard at the ceremony.

A bison skull is the prominent image on the coin, which will be the first in the U.S. States Quarters Program released in 2007 and the 41st coin released thus far.
